Introduction
Telish JSCo is the owner of two wineries in Bulgaria: Telish and Castra Rubra. We produce wines from the entry level to the high end. Currently we are very well positioned on the domestic market and export to more than 20 countries abroad.
Our history started in 1999 when Jayr Agopian obtained the privatized winery Telish. He is the first Bulgarian wine producer who introduced the bag-in-box package on the Bulgarian market. In 2006 we started the construction of Castra Rubra Winery which is a real architectural jewel equipped with the latest technologies and equipment meeting our standards for quality and minimal external influence upon grapes and wine.
The person who creates these wines and guides the team of young oenologists of Castra Rubra Winery is Michel Rolland, the most significant representative of the contemporary wine world.
We started planting our vineyards in 2004 and now we have 250 hectares with varieties that we consider to be very suitable for this terroir. In our vineyards you will find Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Alicante Bouschet, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Syrah, Petit Verdot and, of course, the local pride – Rubin and Mavrud.
