Introduction
The restaurant
Taste Matters is a cosy little dining room situated at the west end of Loughrea town, just 30 minutes from Galway city. We are two friends, Jirka in the front of house and Michal in the kitchen. Together with our small team we serve good food in a casual setting.
The food
is a fusion of various cuisines and the cooking is traditional with some modern elements. Our inspiration comes from anywhere. As our name suggests, taste matters to us and our emphasis is on flavour. We use quality ingredients, organic as much as possible, and cook them with skill and care.
The drink
Jirka, as a wine lover, compiled short, but excellent wine list of natural, organic and biodynamic wines sourced from dedicated and knowledgeable suppliers. There are some lovely craft beers and ciders on offer as well.
Supporting local
We like to support ‘local’, from vegetable farmers and butchers, through accountants and graphic designers, to painters and musicians, and they support us back with their best produce and work.
