ONE STORY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN ST. HELENA CALIFORNIA
S3DA Design provided structural engineering services for one story residential building in St. Helena, California. The house is 2695 sq. ft. and has 3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Dining room, Living room, and family room.

A client approached to us asking to replace the old roof and framing with a new truss roof system. Our Structural Engineering team proposed Scissors trusses to sit on the walls at different levels. In order to improve the stability of the existing CMU walls, our Engineering team designed a concrete tie beam on top of the wall (depth 6”) with No. 4 reinforcing bars under the trusses.

STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF A DOUBLE DECK IN EXHIBITION
S3DA Design participated in the preparation of the Free stand Double deck for exhibition (ICE totally gaming 2018) and provided structural engineering services in this project. The client approached to us requesting to assist him in the Calculation and detail drawings for Free Stand Double deck structure for Exhibition.
Since we were not allowed to bolt the ground in the exhibition hall as it’s a temporary structure, we used a horizontal bracing on the ground level to provide integrate structure.

Structural behavior of lateral load resisting systems with structural membranes
When designing a structure, there are two major loads to consider; the gravity load and the lateral load. While gravity load generally acts downward, a lateral load is considered to act in the horizontal (or sideways) direction. Lateral load manifest through wind and earthquakes. It is of utmost importance that a suitable path exists through which its force is transferred to the ground.

DUPLEX HOUSE DESIGN IN SCOTLAND
We undertook the design of a duplex house in a rolling hill area in Scotland. The challenge we faced was the slope of 2 meters in every 50 meters. The client requested that before we initiate the design display the outside view of the house from inside using SketchUp program, in case there are some required modifications. After we have done the preliminary design, we delivered videos of the house and received approval from the client. Afterward we completed the plans and finished the architectural phase of the project.

HOUSE INTERIOR DESIGN, 360 VIDEO PRESENTATION IN SANTA BARBARA
S3DA Design delivered this house interior design project from concept to completion. In a Brief with the client from Santa Barbara, CA, the project requirements and schedule were defined. Our team of interior designers interpreted and translated all the client’s needs into rough plans, the ultimate goal was to design practical and at the same time visually pleasing spaces.

STRUCTURAL DESIGN SERVICES FOR BEIS ROCHEL SCHOOL IN LONDON
We have made stride in providing structural engineering services. We carried out to extend the school building, adding to additional floors to the existing structure. One of our engineer who has extensive experience worked on the project. He delivered the completed set of the structural package for getting permission within a couple of the weeks.

HOME ADDITION DESIGN IN SANTA CLARA CITY, CA
We have an ongoing ~400sqft home addition design project in Santa Clara, CA. The house is about 1290sqf, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath building plus 480sqf garage. In a very short but constructive discussion with the client, we found out his intention to expand the living room by using the unconsumed patio. That was a very good idea for this home.

We participated in an architectural design process for a remodeling project in California. Our client was looking for someone who can redesign her house and deliver her the full architectural design plans for her single-family home. She wanted to see two different versions of what it would look like. She also wanted to see in 3D visualization, a new added living room in the front side of the house. Therefore, we added a Living Room to the left of the Office. The bathroom was also moved downstairs. There were changes to the large utility laundry room and garage entrance in the back side of the house. The client’s goal was to have a symmetrical and centered front door. So visitors can notice the balance of the two gables and draw less attention to the rest of the house.

When constructing buildings, many things can go wrong. Accidents can occur on the site, damages can be done to the equipment, errors or incomplete planning, etc. The possibility of such errors is greatly magnified when constructing more complex buildings, either due to the gigantic size or the delicacy of the designs. We might wonder what Building Information Modeling has to do here, and the relationship will be revealed soon.
