Neuschwanstein Castle

Just WOW! Such a wonderful and magical place. The tour was fabulous and I left more of a fan of Wagner than ever.

We went at the end of winter so there was plenty of snow around to make it feel truly magical. We went on a bus tour so we were restricted for time, but I would have liked more time to be able to take in the village as well.

The castle and the setting of this castle are amazing. We did not bother going in we just wanted to walk up to it around it behind it above it - and photograph it to death! It is a photographers dream. Just being near some things makes you feel good and seem magical - this is one of those.

I've been twice and I'd go every time I get a chance. This is it THE CASTLE. The one we all have in our minds as what a castle should be and inside it is fantasy run wild. King Ludwig II of Bavaria was out of his mind, thank goodness, and there wasn't anyone to keep him from carrying out whatever crazy idea came into his head.

Then he'd get the very best of craftsmen to create what appeared in his imagination. What a masterpiece this is. Don't miss it – ever

If in Bavaria you should visit... Nice piece of history. You can purchase tickets for Neuschwanstein castle ahead of time online so you can get a set tour and not need to wait to buy tickets or be waiting for a viewing time. The tours are great as you learn new things about the castle.
