Introduction
My company specializing in the gruesome side of London's history. Jack the Ripper Walks, Sweeney Todd Walks, Wapping Executions of Pirates + its great Pubs. Smithfield Executions, burnings and other gruesome offerings.
I have been personally leading Jack the Ripper walks since 1995 and over these years I have done a great of research, I now do not believe in any of the accepted suspects in the public arena, I have my own unique theory into what type on man Jack the Ripper was. To hear this you will need to come on the walk as I am not going to reveal it here!
Sweeney Todd is a favourite character of mine another mystery! Was he real or just fiction? Again during the past few years I have been busy digging up every scrap of evidence in this gory tale and among others read Peter Haining's book in which he claimed he had found irrefutable evidence of his trial.
Wapping has always been a favourite place of mine on the north side of the Thames running down from the Tower of London on the other side of the spectacular St Catherine's Dock to Wapping Station, an area with huge warehouses bordering the river, it's tales of pirate executions, the sound of the river and the view of Jacob's Creek where Charles Dickens wrote the unforgettable scene of the death of the wicked Bill Sykes along the way,
Smithfield is a wholesale meat market today (maybe not for much longer) encased in the City The largest wholesale meat market in Europe, well it hasn't changed its trade much since 1500 when the Abbot of nearby Charterhouse was executed by Henry V111 and had his severed arm nailed to the Priory door! Earlier a site of medieval tournament and from 1300's an execution ground for religious dissenters & heretics!
