Classic Wok Chinese Takeaway

Shocking, SHOCKING service.

Food was reasonable a few years back, but then they started taking short-cuts and using poorer quality imitations (e.g. wantons in their wanton soup became bullets made up of pure gristle in a dishwater tasting soup with out-of-date veg - made me feel quite ill) - it was a really obvious downgrade in quality.

Thing is, I'm sure if the lady on front-of-house (baseball cap, permanent disgusted expression) was in any way vaguely polite - and that's just it, she just needs to be POLITE - we'd be tempted to spend the money trying to establish if their menu overall has improved in recent months as the couple of dishes we reluctantly chanced the other night (last take-out open that evening) were passable!

I've heard her get orders blatantly wrong with no apology, just a menacing glare at the customer - if looks could kill... She's just plain RUDE. Conversely, barking at your customers is also not on. If you hate the public and/or hate your job quite that much, for goodness sakes, do yourself (and us) a favour and hand FOH off to someone who isn't going to put customers off their food - nobody gives a damn if you can't handle the stress of your little take-out.

We had been ordering for many years but while we found the food stayed consistently good the lady answering the phone and taking orders is getting worse and worse she has no manners doesn't know a simple thank you and god forbid you tell them that they have missed something of the order she will cut you down and talk to you like you were a stupid fool and that you have a cheek even mentioning it if only her communication was as good as the food it would be worth having a go it's also worth checking the bill aswell she can be a bit imaginative with that aswell.

Make sure you order 'Smoked Chicken with Seaweed' with each meal. Not sure what it is about Classic Wok, but they seem to this much nicer than the other take-aways.

The Food here is fantastic!! The service was good and quick. The place is very friendly aswell.

Classic Wok is one of the best if not the best takeaway in the area!

I would reconmend to everybody

Ive been coming to Classic Wok for over 7 years now and have always had the best chinese takeaway. A number of times Ive tried alternatives but they never stand up to Classic wok - Not just quality but cost!

Make sure you order 'Smoked Chicken with Seaweed' with each meal. Not sure what it is about Classic Wok, but they seem to this much nicer than the other take-aways.
