Introduction
Antagonist of CD88
PMX 205 trifluoroacetate is an effective complement C5a receptor (C5aR; CD88) antagonists. W-54011 is an oral effective specific CD88 (C5a receptor) antagonist, inhibiting the binding of 125i-labeled C5a to human neutrophilic granulocytes, Ki = 2.2 nm.
CD88 and diseases
CD88, also known as C5aR, is expressed in the parenchyma of human and rodent, especially liver parenchyma cells, lung smooth muscle cells, lung capillary endothelial cells, bronchial epithelial cells and alveolar epithelial cells. It is involved in a series of inflammatory processes, and plays an important role in the pathophysiological processes such as acute lung injury, sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, and tumors. CD88 is mainly distributed in the medullary source cell line in the body, which has chemotaxis, promotes the release reaction of various cells (such as prostaglandin, 5-ht, histamine, il-1, il-6, etc.), and increases vascular permeability. CD88 is also involved in cell anti-apoptosis, neovascularization and so on. Recent studies have also found that the expression of CD88 in breast cancer, lung cancer and brain glioma is significantly higher than that in normal tissues. Therefore, more and more attention is paid to the study of CD88.
