When it became mandatory that all restaurants were required to install grease traps and grease interceptors, Mike bought his first pump truck, which opened up the doors for other opportunities in the industry. He realized that grease was a huge problem for the restaurant industry, which created a substantial revenue stream that opened the doors for water jetting, TV camera work and environmental pumping for the plumbing industry. Mike realized that Drain Cleaning was a separate trade in itself. He also designed a low profile pump truck for getting into parking garages to clean and maintain sewage ejector pits. He services, maintains, sells sewage ejectors and also offers service contracts. Mike was one of the first plumbers in the Washington Metropolitan area to have his own TV camera and his own water jet. He was instrumental in taking a 10-truck plumbing operation and turning it into a 100 truck plumbing operation. He created a Drain Cleaning, Pumping and a Utility Repair Division that turned out to be the most profitable division of the company.
For 18 years, Mike was on call 24 hours a day and his motto was "Never Say No to a Customer". Mike is always willing to give customers his cell phone and home phone numbers, because he doesn’t want to rely on answering services for after hours calls.
Years ago, Mike realized that Flat Rate pricing that the automotive industry started needed to be implemented into the plumbing trade for residential customers and he and Mary Ann have done that. He and Mary Ann both pride themselves on Customer Service and good employee relations. As mentioned earlier, Mike just recently joined forces with his sister, Mary Ann, who is the owner of First Class Plumbing, which is one of the very few Women Owned Plumbing Companies in the area.
